Josh + Natalie: The Reception

December 23, 2009

Natalie, Josh and I hung out around the church after the ceremony for a little bit, then headed over to the reception site so I could snap a photo of them getting into AND out of the car.

Then the party began!

Josh + Natalie: The Ceremony

December 22, 2009

I wasn’t sure what to expect before I arrived at the church, and I was absolutely FLOORED when I walked into the cathedral. I don’t know if I have ever been in a more beautiful house of worship, and I had an absolutely heyday with the ceremony photos because of this.

Josh + Natalie: The Portraits

December 21, 2009

I spent time with Natalie, her family and bridesmaids at her home and snapped their portraits at the house, then headed to the church to meet up with Josh and his guys for portraits.

It was an adventure of a day, and it was only beginning with these portraits!

See you back here tomorrow for the ceremony images!

I got a call this past spring from a former classmate and co-worker who was curious if I photographed weddings. I told her I was definitely interested, but I didn’t really have much experience when it came to weddings. Sure, I’ve been to A LOT, but shooting them? Not really, even though I love weddings.

After some more talking and research on my part, she booked me for her October wedding.

Josh and Natalie got married in Thibodeaux, La. at Natalie’s home church. It was a gorgeous event, and I am still so thankful Natalie and her family entrusted me with such an important event!

On to the photos!

Joe + Renee: The Ceremony

December 15, 2009

Today, we have a look at photos from Joe and Renee’s wedding ceremony.

They got married at a state park outside of South Bend, In., and the setting could not have been more perfect.

Joe + Renee: The Portraits

December 14, 2009

Today’s photo goodies from Joe and Renee’s big day are the portraits. We ended up snapping lots and lots of these. … It wasn’t hard. You’ll see.

On to the photos!

I know I’ve said it before, but those bouquets? Gorgeous.

Renee and I spotted this little garden at the ceremony site and automatically knew we were making pictures in it. Loving the colors!

So freaking cute! (I’m still amazed there was a RED BARN at the ceremony site. Loves it!)

Joe + Renee: The Preparations

December 13, 2009

Joe and Renee got married outside of South Bend, In. in August, and I had the pleasure of shooting their entire day — from preparations to the reception. It was truly a lovely day, and I am so excited to finally be sharing these photos with you!

Let’s get started, shall we?

I know I already shared this image, but I just love it. Renee putting on her makeup. (Renee? I might need your help with the eyelashes and other complicated makeup-related things on my wedding day…)

Flowers! So bright and beautiful!

Last minute touches before heading out for the portraits.

Joe’s mom helped him with his corsage before formal portraits. So sweet!

More to come tomorrow!

I ventured up to Indiana to document a wedding this past weekend. The day was long, but it was absolutely perfect: from the weather, to the couple and their wedding entourage to the location.

This was my first wedding since shooting my cousin’s two years ago, so I wasn’t sure what exactly to expect other than to be on my toes. I ended up spending most of the day photographing the preparations, the formal portraits, the ceremony and then the reception, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

In fact, I’m rather excited about the results.

I’ve still got A LOT of images to edit, but there will be more posted eventually! Let me know what you think!
